Why We Choose To Sugar!

One of the questions we get asked time and time again is why our clients should choose sugaring over just simply shaving at home. Well, to make things simple, we always choose what is best for our clients, and we firmly believe this is the case when it comes to sugaring. We love offering the best options for you, but if you would like to learn more, keep reading!

So to start us off...What exactly is Sugaring?

Sugaring a form of hair removal that removes hair from the root. A ball of sugar is molded onto the skin against the direction of hair growth and then removed in the direction of growth. This technique leads to less breakage and a cleaner final result.

What is Shaving?

Shaving is a form of hair removal that uses a sharp blade to remove the hair directly on the skin. The hair is not removed from the bulb and is instead removed by cutting the hair shaft.

So, what are the pros and cons?

SHAVING:

Quick: Shaving can be fast. It only take about 15 minutes to shave your entire leg. However, keep in mind you will have to do this multiple times per week, so the time investment really starts to add up!

Painless: Shaving is pain-free! Unless, you happen to cut yourself, that is!

Can be done anywhere:If you need to shave, you can do it pretty much anywhere, no planning needed!

Sugaring:

Ingredients:

Sugar is all-natural with such an amazingly simple list of ingredients. It is made up of lemon, sugar, and water. And that is it!

Hair is pulled from the root: Unlike shaving, sugaring pulls the hair out by the root. This is one of the biggest benefits of sugaring. Now you need to regrow the bulb and the entire hair shaft before the hair will pop up again, giving you a few weeks of hair free bliss!

Needs to Be Done Way Less Often: Sugaring pulls the hair from the root. Therefore, you won’t need to do it again as frequently. In the time you have between sugaring appointments, you would have to shave approximately 12 times!

Leads to permanent hair reduction: Sugaring will weaken your hair follicle every time it is done. Repeatedly pulling out the hair bulb weakens the hair more and more each time. Eventually the hair follicle will stop growing hair all together!

Less ingrown Hairs:Another benefit of sugaring removing the hair in the direction of growth is that there is less breakage. This leads to a very minimal amount of ingrown hairs, especially when compared to waxing or shaving. Keep in mind however that you still may get some ingrowns if you are prone.. For this reason, it is important to use proper aftercare and exfoliate!

We love sugaring, and we think it is the best option for hair removal, which is why we choose to offer it to our clients. However, different options work for different people, so we recommend giving sugaring a try, and then you can decide what is the best option for you!
